About Us
Our goal is to work with the people we serve and empower them to be self-sufficient
We partner with those who feel called to serve in whatever capacity they are able, whether that be to actively participate in the missions, provide prayer or financial support.
Statement of Faith
ION Missions is a Christ-centered, faith-based, ecumenical organization which serves to connect those in need with those who have an inherent need to serve based upon their faith in God.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
ION Missions holds a trinitarian viewpoint of God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit of God- three in one.
ION Missions does not believe in “works righteousness’ (one does not earn their way into heaven- only by faith in Jesus Christ) but affirms the beliefs stated in James (2:14) What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has not deeds? (3:13) Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.
ION Missions serves at the intersection of human need and the human need to serve.
Our History
ION Missions was officially launched in Summer 2023. ION Missions was the natural evolution of growth of our efforts (H3 Missions- Hearts and Hands for Honduras) which began in 2009. A small group of individuals who had a passion and calling for mission, set out to explore mission opportunities. The initial criteria established for this mission was this: To serve in an area of great need where long-term relationships could be developed to create a sustainable impact, built on meaningful partnerships.
Honduras was the answer to these prayers, specifically a small community named LaCeibita, located in a remote area of Honduras. This community, built as a relocation community for families displaced by Hurricane Mitch in 1998, suffers from abject poverty and lacked resources for employment, food, education, and healthcare. Our first mission in LaCeibita entailed rescuing a dilapidated building that served as a feeding center for school children. Attending school in this community (and in Honduras) is a privilege, not a right. Many children were unsuccessful in school due to hunger. This feeding center was established to address this issue and feeds up to 150 children per day, utilizing volunteer help and food provided by the mission.
